Privacy policy
This page explains what we collect when you request a free AI visibility report on thementionedcompany.com, why we collect it, and how to have it deleted.
Who we are
The Mentioned Company runs thementionedcompany.com, thementionedcompany.ai and app.thementionedcompany.com. For any privacy question or request, write to [email protected].
What we collect
When you submit the free report form, we store:
- your email address;
- the store or product URL you entered, and a brand name if you gave one;
- the campaign tags in the link you arrived from (
utm_source,utm_medium,utm_campaign,utm_term,utm_content); - a keyed hash of your IP address, used only to limit repeated requests (we don't store the IP address itself);
- your browser's user-agent string and the site you submitted from.
Why we use it
- To make the report you asked for, email it to you and reply to your questions.
- To write to you about the report and our service. Every email we send tells you how to stop further emails.
- To stop abuse, such as automated or repeated submissions.
We don't sell your data, and we don't share your email address with anyone except the providers listed below.
How a report is made
To build the report, we ask AI assistants (ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Overviews and Perplexity) shopping questions about the product's category and about the product itself, and we read their answers. We don't give them your email address. A person reviews every report before it is sent.
Who processes data for us
- Cloudflare: hosts this website, protects it from attacks and delivers our report emails.
- Contabo: hosts the server in the EU that runs our app and stores your request.
- Google: runs our email inbox (Google Workspace) and, when it is switched on, Google Ads conversion measurement.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies of its own. When Google Ads measurement is switched on, Google's tag may set cookies that tell us whether a visit from one of our ads led to a report request. We don't use them for remarketing or ad personalization. For visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland these cookies are off by default. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie.
How long we keep it
We keep your request and the report for 12 months after our last contact with you, then delete them. You can ask us to delete them sooner at any time.
Your rights
- Ask for a copy of your data, or for it to be corrected or deleted, by writing to [email protected]. We answer within 30 days.
- Stop our emails at any time by replying "unsubscribe".
- If you are in the UK or the EU, you can complain to your data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office).
If you are in the UK or the EU, we use your data because you asked for the report (steps you request before any contract), and on the basis of our legitimate interest in preventing abuse and following up with business contacts.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
